Food coma? Not even close.

This isn't a true reflection of what I ate back home.  It's only maybe 60% of what I scoffed down and believe me if I had the time, I would have gone back for seconds at most of these places.  I was grief stricken as it is missing out a dim sum do.
Iskandar Curry House, Lambak
The best roti and murtabak in town!  D polished off one all by herself.  They are generous with the ghee (clarified butter) here.  It really adds to the flavour.

Mum had her usual hot San Suan or three sours and I had a Teh tarik at Lee Loi Fatt, Serusop.

Kolo mee for breakkie with the family in Bandar.  I think the kopitiam is called Cahaya Indah?  Mum frequents this place for the big pao's which sell out by mid morning almost everyday.

Sister had the Kolo Mee Pok which is essentially the same as Kolo mee but with flat noodle.

Brother loves the Siew Mai here.

Jollibee!
Amazing fried chicken and gravy, not to mention the greatest spaghetti ever.  Haha so it's not gourmet nor the healthiest spaghetti, but it's so good!

Teh Tarik India

Somewhat comedic.  If you follow me on instagram (@kamaliahsr) then you would've seen this picture.  This is our dads idea of scaring away the monkeys.  After the little forest land beside our home was converted to a housing land lot, all the monkeys and little creatures started coming over into our garden.  I've not seen him myself but apparently there's also an Iguana who frequents our grounds and pond.  Johnny now has two little babies and we really hope it stops there!

Are you a fan of durian?  I don't mind the putih or white variety but not the local red and yellow ones.  The latter two are way too obnoxiously smelly for me.

Had waffles with these kiddos at the Mall Gadong one fine afternoon.  The kaya and peanut butter combination is my ultimate favourite.  Hua ho supermarket also does great waffles but for some reason it's called wafer there but pronounced, wait for it...Wo-pher.  If you ask for a wafer, no one's going to know what you're talking about hahahaha!

For the flight home, I had Jollibee Spaghetti takeaway!  Brunei Air serves one meal over the 7 hour or so flight and whilst this might be sufficient for some, by mid flight i'm already feeling famished.  They do make sure you're well hydrated though with frequent serves of juice and the like.

I wish i'd taken the time to capture photos of all my noms for you all. I'll try remember not to inhale my food in one go in the future haha.

K xx

  3. I totally understand your plight. When I went back home, I inhaled food on a 24 hour basis. There was a point where I'd actually be eating in my sleep, no joke! But this looks absolutely delicious. Perhaps reading this post on day 1 of another failed diet attempt was a bad idea, ha ha! Hapy New year!!
