Boxing Day: Melbourne CBD

4.15 am:  F arrives at my Unit and we proceed to walk to David Jones, Bourke St Mall.

Approaching Swanston Street, F notices a sea of people queuing on Bourke St which went around the corner onto Swanston St (prescription eyewear or not, i'm mostly blind as a bat half the time).

4.59 am:  Countdown and balloons are released

5.00 am:  People walk in very calmly

5.05 am:  We entered David Jones

Neither one of us bought anything from DJs apart from a Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler I purchased ($35).  We had Coffee at Sensory Lab and waited for Melbourne Central to open at 8 am.

F enjoyed the sale at Country Road the most.  Further 25% off for cardholders on already reduced items.  Not too shabby!  I avoided at all costs because I would've made too many impulse purchases.  We browsed around Melbourne Central but nothing really jumped at us.

I've been eyeing these Air Max 1's and snapped them up at 20% off from Hype DC.  Nike also has these on sale for 20% off but only when you make 2 instore purchases.

Not a sale item ($28).  A new Comic shop opened up 3 weeks ago, a few doors down from Stalactites.  The boy's a great big comic nerd enthusiast.  The My Little Pony series of comics was just released about a month ago and is too cute!

Breakkie at Madam Kays.
We then went to Lululemon where F went slightly nuts with the great deals on offer hahaha.

My sister lurvesss Dutch Pancakes and I bought two of these contraptions from Target...just incase one should decide to kapoot on us.  At $10 each, pretty good deal.  I wanted to buy the Jamie Oliver dishes but there weren't any reductions on them. Oh and I also bought a Tefal 26cm frying pan for $22 (?).

R joined us later and did some damage at Zara and MNG

Boxing Day Joy! :)

Wearing new kicks!

Home time for all of us around 2pm..

We dressed for comfort and convenience.  It was a chilly start to the day and started heating up by the time we were done...

R.  Top: Miss Shop |  Skirt: Tempt |  Sandals: Rubi  |  Bag:  MJ by Marc Jacobs  |  Sunnies:  MNG

F.  Top: from South America  |  Jeans: Country Road  |  Flats + Bag:  Country Road  |  Sunnies: Prada

K.  Top:  J Crew via Net-A-Porter (now on sale! :( )  |  Pants:  Bassike  |  Hijab:  Maysaa  |  Bag:  Balenciaga  |  Sneakers:  Nike Air Max 1 VNTG via Hype DC (initially wore Vans Sneakers in beige)

We all did well in restraining ourselves from impulse buys.  There's always the New Years sales to look forward to and hopefully further reductions.  We didn't venture up Collins St and GPO so can't really say much about the sales there.

Also on boxing day, it was fortuitous that F found a Ben & Jerry's franchise had recently opened on Chapel St!

Perfect for a sunny day...

    1. We thought we were 'early' but clearly not early enough! I've never used Shu products other than the eyelash curler...will read into it soon :)

  2. you girls are cray-zee! it looks like a big day, but not buying ANYTHING in dj's, was it worth getting up so early? Sort of like the day I got up at 4am to go on a 1km hike. lol - pointless.

    1. hahahahaha! Oh yes, the hike! I've been going back again and again after boxing day and accumulating sales purchases hehe. I was a bit disappointed on the day because I was expecting a mad rush and looking forward to some sales drama lol!
